Port-Wine Stains, also known as Nevus Flammeus, are congenital vascular malformations characterized by reddish-purple discolorations of the skin. These birthmarks result from an overabundance of capillaries near the skin's surface and can vary in size and location. They often appear on the face, neck, arms, or legs and may darken or thicken over time. While generally harmless, they can sometimes be associated with other medical conditions and may require treatment for cosmetic or medical reasons.
