August 2025 in “Pharmaceutics” This study evaluated methods to administer betulin in in vivo experiments and found that olive oil, food-grade lard, and other carriers increase betulin absorption in Wistar rats, while monitoring blood levels may aid future clinical research.
This study found that a combination of betulin and cytostatic Namitecan had a statistically significant synergistic effect on solid Ehrlich adenocarcinoma tumors in NMRI mice, and suggests a promising method for administering betulin in in vivo experiments despite its water insolubility.
