Glossary Full-Thickness Skin Graft

A Full-Thickness Skin Graft (FTSG) involves transplanting both the epidermis and the entire dermis from a donor site to a recipient site. This type of graft is often used for reconstructive surgery because it provides better cosmetic results, including color and texture match, and has a lower risk of contraction compared to split-thickness grafts.
