Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) is a group of genetic disorders that affect the connective tissues, which provide support to the skin, joints, blood vessels, and other organs. People with EDS often have overly flexible joints, stretchy and fragile skin, and may experience frequent joint dislocations and chronic pain. The severity and specific symptoms can vary widely among the different types of EDS.
