The quiescent state, also known as the resting state, refers to a period during which cells or tissues are inactive or not undergoing active growth and division. In the context of hair biology, this is often associated with the telogen phase of the hair growth cycle, where hair follicles are not actively producing new hair but are instead in a state of rest before shedding and eventually re-entering the growth phase.
