TLDR Vitamin D levels do not significantly relate to the causes of PCOS or DOR in infertile patients.
The study examined the relationship between anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) and vitamin 25(OH)D levels in 153 infertile patients, with 78 having polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and 75 with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR). It found very weak to weak correlations between AMH and vitamin 25(OH)D levels in both groups, which were not statistically significant. Significant differences were observed between the PCOS and DOR groups in terms of BMI and vitamin 25(OH)D levels. The study concluded that there is no substantial evidence to support a connection between vitamin 25(OH)D levels and the pathogenesis of PCOS and DOR, suggesting that these conditions' pathophysiology might be independent of serum vitamin 25(OH)D levels.
