    TLDR Certain VDR gene changes can affect melanoma risk.
    The study investigated the association between VDR gene polymorphisms and melanoma susceptibility in a Colombian population. The findings suggested that specific polymorphisms in the VDR gene were involved in the development of melanoma, either increasing or decreasing the risk of this cancer.
