Virgin Coconut And Fish Oil For Treatment Of Fungal Cat Infection In Malang

The study conducted community service activities at Buchi Pet Shop in Malang to address the high incidence of fungal infections in cats, which were reported at 20-30 cases per month. Traditional medications like ketoconazole, miconazole, and griseofulvin have harmful side effects with prolonged use, prompting the exploration of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and fish oil (VCFO) as alternative treatments. The event, attended by 35 participants, included counseling, demonstrations, and cat vaccinations. The results indicated that VCFO was effective in treating fungal infections and promoting hair regrowth, receiving positive feedback from participants.
