TLDR The facial aging scale is a reliable tool for assessing skin aging and treatment effects.
The study aimed to validate a comprehensive facial aging assessment scale, incorporating a new sub-scale for photo-aging, to objectively measure facial aging and predict patients' ages. Using the Rasch model, the researchers assigned scores to patients and analyzed the correlation between actual age and obtained scores, as well as inter-rater and test-retest reliability. The scales demonstrated high acceptability, reliability, and validity. The new face objective assessment scale was proposed as a valuable tool for both clinical practice and research, aiding in the assessment and follow-up of patients undergoing facial rejuvenation treatments. The study involved participants with a mean age of 45.6 years and found consistent scoring across evaluations.
