TLDR A benign hair follicle tumor caused upper lip swelling, was removed, and did not return.
Trichofolliculoma is a rare benign tumor originating from hair follicle tissue, typically presenting as a small, dome-shaped nodule on the face. In a reported case, a 70-year-old woman experienced swelling of the upper lip and oral vestibule, initially misdiagnosed due to a history of verruca vulgaris. Imaging revealed an upper lip tumor, which was surgically removed and diagnosed as trichofolliculoma upon histopathological examination. The tumor was characterized by a keratin-filled cyst lined with squamous epithelium and associated follicular structures. Following treatment, no recurrence was observed.
