TLDR Sabal serrulata and biomimetic peptides with microneedling reduced hair loss and improved hair thickness in men with balding.
A study involving 10 male patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA) evaluated the effectiveness of a treatment using Sabal serrulata and biomimetic peptides delivered via microneedling. The treatment involved 10 weekly sessions, with a reduction in hair loss observed in all patients by the 5th session. By the end of the treatment, 60% of patients showed a decrease in AGA, and 70% showed an improvement in cumulative hair thickness. The treatment also resulted in an increase in the number of hairs per area, with the best result in the occipital area (16.9% improvement). The study concluded that this method of transcutaneous administration of sterile cosmetics is a promising technique that shows evidence of reducing hair loss and promoting new hair growth, with a high degree of patient satisfaction.
