In this study, baricitinib treatment for severe alopecia areata was associated with complete hair regrowth after 12 months in two patients, suggesting it may be an effective alternative to traditional therapies, although safety and clinical implications need careful consideration.

In this retrospective study, baricitinib effectively improved alopecia areata in 78.7% of patients by the end of treatment, with significant hair regrowth observed, particularly in those with disease duration of four years or less, and showed no serious adverse events.

This study found that twice-daily oral baricitinib at a 2-mg dose showed promising results in treating refractory alopecia areata, particularly among Chinese patients, with 64% achieving significant hair regrowth, although none attained complete hair regrowth. Adverse events were mild and included nausea and folliculitis.
