TLDR Trazodone might help reverse post finasteride syndrome.
The study suggests that finasteride, by inhibiting the 5alpha-reductase enzyme in the brain, may cause epigenetic changes in the androgen receptor's mRNA, leading to post finasteride syndrome. This syndrome is theorized to result from an imbalance in histone acetylation and methylation due to altered levels of DHT and free testosterone. Trazodone, with its alpha-adrenergic antagonist properties, might reverse these epigenetic changes in neuronal circuits, potentially alleviating symptoms related to erection and libido affected by finasteride.
