TLDR Amino acid-complexed trace minerals improve hair quality and activity in senior dogs.
A 90-day study with 43 senior dogs examined the effects of inorganic versus amino acid-complexed trace minerals on haircoat and activity levels. Dogs were divided into Control, TMC, and TMC-LG groups. Results indicated that TMC and TMC-LG groups experienced increased hair growth, superior hair quality, decreased shedding, and more active hours compared to the Control group. Specifically, TMC-LG dogs had significantly longer hair and higher growth rates, shedding less hair while maintaining activity levels. The study suggests that amino acid-complexed trace minerals can enhance haircoat quality and vitality in senior dogs.
