TLDR Zaleya pentandra extracts, especially acetone, may be useful for new medicines and food industry applications.
The study investigates the phytochemical compounds, antioxidant, and antibacterial activities of five Zaleya pentandra extracts (ethanol, hexane, acetone, ethyl acetate, and methanol) using HPLC-MS. The acetone extract showed the highest total polyphenol content (323.06±1.74 mg GAE/g) and significant antibacterial activity against B. subtilis. Computational analysis indicated significant drug-likeness features, including toxicological and pharmacokinetic assessments. The findings suggest that Zaleya pentandra extracts, particularly the acetone extract, have potential applications in developing new therapeutic agents and in the food industry.
