TLDR Combining finasteride with minoxidil is more effective for male hair loss than using minoxidil alone.
The study compared the efficacy of a combination treatment of topical finasteride 0.25% with minoxidil 5% against topical minoxidil 5% alone in treating male pattern androgenic alopecia. Conducted with 164 male patients aged 30 to 60, the study found that the combination treatment (Group A) had a significantly higher efficacy rate of 86.7% compared to 69.1% for minoxidil alone (Group B), with a P-value of 0.006. These results suggest that the combination therapy is a more effective treatment option for male pattern hair loss.
