The study found that the average number of citations ranged from 36.8 to 893.9, with a mean of 176.8. Key research topics shifted significantly after 2010, focusing on drug research, including safety, efficacy, resistance, and adverse effects, with a notable increase in studies on immunotherapy agents like CTLA-4, PD-1/PD-L1, ipilimumab, and nivolumab. The rise of immunotherapy notably increased citation frequency and altered the landscape of melanoma research.
