TLDR New 5% minoxidil solution improves scalp hydration, reduces redness, and may be safer for sensitive users.
The study compared the tolerability of a novel 5% minoxidil topical solution with two alcohol-based solutions in Indian men with androgenetic alopecia. The novel formulation significantly improved scalp hydration and reduced redness compared to the alcohol-based solutions, which increased dryness and redness. The study suggests that the novel formulation could be a safer alternative for men with androgenetic alopecia who are sensitive to alcoholic formulations. The study did not evaluate the efficacy of the novel minoxidil formulation.
