A Review on Therapeutic Effect of Siddha Classical Formulation Seenthil Chooranam

Seenthil Chooranam, a classical Siddha formulation composed of Tinospora cordifolia, Eclipta prostrata, and earthworm extract, exhibits a wide range of pharmacological properties, including anti-diabetic, antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-asthmatic, anti-tumor, immunomodulatory, and wound-healing effects. It is traditionally used for conditions such as sinusitis, diabetes mellitus, tuberculosis, cough, bronchial asthma, scrotal swelling, alopecia areata, and hair fall. The review highlights the correlation between traditional Siddha medicine and modern pharmacological research, affirming its therapeutic potential. However, further research is needed to establish its safety, optimal dosage, and clinical efficacy for broader therapeutic use. Integrating traditional knowledge with contemporary research could enhance its acceptance in modern medicine.
