TLDR Ginsenosides in Panax ginseng boost hair growth like minoxidil.
The study found that the ginsenosides of Panax ginseng promote hair growth in a similar way to minoxidil. The researchers treated cultured human hair follicles with ginsenosides Rb₁, Re, and Rg₁, as well as a PG extract, and found that they significantly enhanced hair growth. The study suggests that ginsenosides could be a potential alternative to minoxidil for promoting hair growth.
