TLDR One session of Low Level Laser Therapy before hair transplantation doesn't significantly improve hair growth.
In 2016, a study involving 10 patients with androgenic alopecia examined the impact of one session of Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) on hair follicular units prior to transplantation. The follicles were divided into two groups, one receiving LLLT and the other serving as a control. The results showed no significant difference in hair growth between the two groups, suggesting that a single session of LLLT had no significant effect on the outcome of transplanted hair follicles. The researchers recommended further studies with larger sample sizes and more extensive LLLT sessions to fully understand the potential benefits of pre-transplantation LLLT on hair growth.
