TLDR Anigozanthos Flavidus flower extract helps regenerate skin and reduce wrinkles.
The document reports on a study that investigated the effects of Anigozanthos Flavidus flower extract (AF) on skin aging, particularly focusing on its ability to modulate tenascin-X expression and regenerate the extracellular matrix (ECM). The in vitro studies showed that AF extract increased the expression of type I collagen, tenascin-X, and elastin by 136%, 39%, and 43%, respectively. Additionally, it significantly increased the contractile forces of wrinkle fibroblasts by 10% and 19% after 6 and 24 hours of treatment, respectively. The in vivo study involved 42 women volunteers who applied a 2% AF cream twice daily for 28 days. Results showed a 5% decrease in wrinkle depth and a 24% improvement in neck sagging after the first hour of application, with a sustained 10% anti-wrinkle effect over the 28 days. The study concluded that AF extract can regenerate ECM by increasing the expression, organization, and functionality of essential matrix proteins, suggesting that Anigozanthos Flavidus flower extract could be a new innovative ingredient for skin care products aimed at providing a fast and long-lasting tensor effect to counteract skin aging.
