A 13-year-old boy experienced influenza-like symptoms and thrombocytopenia after a camping trip, presenting with fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, and weight loss. Initial tests showed low platelet count and elevated inflammatory markers, but were negative for various infections. His condition improved with fluid therapy, but worsened on Hospital Day 10 with fatigue, high fever, and hair loss. A subsequent serologic test confirmed the diagnosis.
