TLDR A woman got male pattern baldness from touching her husband's testosterone gel.
A 52-year-old woman developed androgenetic alopecia with a Hamilton pattern after accidentally being exposed to topical testosterone gel used by her spouse for hypogonadism. She experienced severe hair thinning on her crown and frontotemporal area, and her condition was confirmed by dermoscopy and elevated levels of testosterone and free testosterone in her body. The woman was prescribed minoxidil and advised to reduce her exposure to the testosterone gel. The authors of the report concluded that the sudden onset of male pattern baldness in the patient was due to accidental contact with her husband's testosterone medication. The outcome of the treatment was not reported in the document.
