TLDR Two cases of a rare skin condition were successfully treated with laser therapy, offering a non-surgical treatment option.
The document reports two cases of successful treatment of Eccrine Angiomatous Hamartoma (EAH), a rare benign skin condition, using a combined sequential pulsed dye laser (PDL) and neodymium-doped yttrium-aluminum–garnet (Nd:YAG) laser. Previously, surgical excision was considered the only curative treatment for EAH, with laser treatments deemed unsatisfactory. However, in these two cases, the authors achieved successful outcomes without recurrence. The first case involved a 38-year-old man with a painful lesion on his foot, which was treated over five sessions and showed no sign of recurrence after a 4-year follow-up. The second case involved a 26-year-old woman with an asymptomatic plaque on her upper lip, which disappeared after four sessions and had no recurrence after a 17-month follow-up. The authors suggest that this laser treatment could be a valid alternative to surgery for certain cases of EAH, offering fewer side effects.
