Health Status of Stray Cats in Bogor City Based on Various Parameters

    TLDR Stray cats in Bogor have skin issues, stress signs, possible parasites, and low water intake.
    This study assessed the health status of 20 stray cats in Bogor city through physical, blood, and urine examinations. Physical exams revealed skin and fur abnormalities, including ectoparasites and alopecia. Many cats showed increased heart and respiratory rates, likely due to stress. Blood tests were mostly normal, but increased eosinophils and low platelet counts suggested parasitic infestations and platelet issues. Urine tests showed hyposthenuria, possibly due to low water intake or fasting, with normal urine color and no protein. Epithelial cells were present in 76% of urine samples.
