TLDR Stem cell therapy before hair transplant improves hair growth on scarred scalp.
The study explored the use of stem cell therapy before follicular unit hair extraction (FUE) on scarred scalp tissue, which typically presents challenges due to reduced vascularity and altered tissue architecture. Sixty patients with scalp scars were divided into two groups: Group A received stem cell therapy prior to FUE, while Group B underwent FUE without prior stem cell treatment. The results indicated that Group A experienced significantly improved hair growth and density compared to Group B, suggesting that stem cell therapy can enhance the success of FUE on scarred tissue by promoting better tissue regeneration.
