Evaluation of Stability in the Purified Wood Vinegar and Its Hair Growth Effect

TLDR Purified wood vinegar can safely and effectively promote hair growth.
The study developed a new purification method for wood vinegar to reduce its toxicity and evaluated its stability and hair growth effects. The purified wood vinegar remained stable under long-term and accelerated storage conditions, with no detection of the carcinogenic agent benzopyrene. In an alopecia model using C57BL/6 mice, topical treatment with the purified wood vinegar for 2 weeks accelerated hair regrowth without clinical signs, similar to minoxidil. The findings suggested that the purified wood vinegar could be a useful hair growth promoter for treating baldness or alopecia.
