TLDR Clomiphene Citrate can quickly restore fertility in some men after long-term steroid abuse.
This case study describes a 31-year-old male who had abused anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS) for 15 years, starting at age 16, and experienced rapid recovery of spermatogenesis after treatment with Clomiphene Citrate (CC). The patient received 50 mg of CC every other day for 72 days, beginning one week after stopping steroid use. Initial tests showed severely impaired sperm parameters and hormonal imbalances. After 72 days of CC therapy, the patient's testosterone levels normalized, and semen analysis showed significant improvement, with a total sperm count of 88 million and 76% live sperm. Remarkably, the patient's wife became pregnant shortly after treatment. This case suggests that CC can effectively restore fertility in some men with a history of long-term AAS abuse, although individual responses may vary.
