TLDR Bakerwali goat skin thickens with age, especially on the neck, and shows strong lipid reactions in the keratin layer.
The study on Bakerwali goats' skin showed that skin thickness increased with age, with the dorsal regions being the thickest. The epidermis lacked the stratum lucidum, and the dermis was made of dense connective tissue divided into superficial papillary and deep reticular layers without clear separation. Elastic fibers were only present in blood vessel walls. These findings offered detailed insights into the skin structure, important for understanding its role and potential use in the leather industry.
