TLDR Chegu goats have two types of hair follicles, with primary ones having glands and muscles, and secondary ones lacking them.
The study examined the skin and hair follicles of seven healthy Chegu goats, revealing that skin thickness ranged from 2.2 to 3.5 mm, with an average of 2.84 mm. The epidermis thickness varied from 12 to 26 μm, averaging 21.47 μm. The dermis was composed of dense irregular connective tissue with collagen fibers. Hair follicles were accompanied by sebaceous glands, sweat glands, and arrector pili muscles, with sweat glands opening into the follicle neck above the sebaceous gland. Two types of hair follicles were identified: primary follicles, which were associated with glands and muscles, and secondary follicles, which lacked these structures. The average follicle density was 30.66 follicles/mm, with a secondary to primary follicle ratio of 18.9.
