TLDR Low dose oral minoxidil is safe for treating hair loss in men.
The study assessed the side effects of low dose oral minoxidil in 100 male patients with androgenetic alopecia. The most common side effect was body and facial hypertrichosis, while other observed side effects included lower legs edema, periorbital edema, fatigue, tachycardia, and insomnia. Expected side effects like dizziness, hypotension, respiratory changes, and diarrhea were not found. No life-threatening adverse effects were reported, indicating that low dose oral minoxidil has a good safety profile for treating hair loss.
