TLDR Shengfu oil speeds up wound healing by reducing inflammation and promoting tissue repair.
Shengfu oil, a traditional Chinese medicine with 16 ingredients, was studied for its effects on enhancing wound healing in rabbit full-thickness scalded skin. The study found that Shengfu oil significantly improved healing by exhibiting anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antimicrobial activities. The oil led to intact wound tissue structures and regenerated cutaneous appendages, indicating superior healing compared to controls. Immunohistochemistry and multispectral imaging analysis revealed that Shengfu oil regulated the expression of β-catenin, Dlk1, and COX-2 proteins, with increased β-catenin and Dlk1 and decreased COX-2 expression during early wound repair, and fluctuating levels throughout the healing process. These findings suggested that Shengfu oil enhanced wound healing through its regulatory effects on these proteins.

Kintor Pharmaceutical's Phase 2 results with the drug Pyrilutamide, a potential alternative to 5-ARI drugs like Finasteride and Dutasteride but without the side effects. It could be used in combination with other topical treatments such as Minoxidil. The safety of the drug has been demonstrated in 6 months of use, however there are still questions about long term efficacy and systemic absorption.
