TLDR Minoxidil helps lower blood pressure in kids with severe hypertension, but may cause temporary excessive hair growth.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of different antihypertensive regimens in children with severe hypertension and found that minoxidil, in combination with propranolol and hydrochlorothiazide, was effective in reducing blood pressure. The only side effect observed was hypertrichosis, or excessive hair growth, which was not permanent. The study suggests that minoxidil may be a beneficial addition to current antihypertensive therapy for severe hypertension in children.
