Scanning Electron Microscopic Features of the Ovine Interdigital Sinus

The study described the scanning electron microscopic features of the ovine interdigital sinus, highlighting its structure and components. The sinus was divided into three parts: base, body, and neck, with the wall showing significant folds except at the base. The wall consisted of three layers: epidermis, dermis, and fibrous capsule, with the inner surface resembling coarse skin due to folds. The dermis contained typical skin structures such as sebaceous glands, hair follicles, arrector pili muscles, and apocrine glands. Sebaceous glands appeared as bubble-like groups, while apocrine glands were coiled tubules with apocrine blebs, indicating apocrine secretion. Secretory vesicles were located in the lumen of apocrine tubules, which were often filled with secretory content, demonstrating classical apocrine secretion features.
