TLDR A dog named Boby recovered from a skin infection and anemia after treatment, highlighting the need for pet cleanliness.
The study describes a case of a 4-month-old local male dog named Boby, diagnosed with scabiosis due to Sarcoptes scabiei infection, which led to hypochromic microcytic anemia. The dog exhibited symptoms such as alopecia, scales, and crusts across various body parts. Diagnosis was confirmed through skin scraping, and hematological examination revealed lymphocytosis, monocytosis, granulocytopenia, and thrombocytosis. Treatment included ivermectin, diphenhydramine HCl, chlorpheniramine maleate, B-complex, fish oil, and sulfur shampoo. After 28 days, the dog's condition improved, with reduced pruritus and crusts, and by the 40th day, new hair growth was observed. The study emphasizes the importance of maintaining cleanliness in pet environments to prevent such infections.
