TLDR Iron infusions can help improve hair loss in patients who can't take oral iron supplements.
The study investigates the safety and clinical efficacy of iron infusions in patients with non-scarring alopecia, such as telogen effluvium, who cannot tolerate oral iron supplements. It highlights that maintaining serum ferritin levels above 40 ng/mL can help ameliorate hair loss. The findings suggest that iron infusions are a viable alternative for increasing hemoglobin and ferritin levels in these patients, although current literature on this treatment method is limited.
