TLDR The rs1128977 gene variant may affect cholesterol and body measurements.
The study investigated the association between retinoid X receptor (RXR) gene variants and dyslipidemia risk in an Iranian population, involving 391 individuals. It focused on three polymorphisms: rs3132294 in the RXRA gene and rs2651860 and rs1128977 in the RXRG gene. The results indicated that the rs1128977 SNP was associated with increased levels of HDL-cholesterol, body mass index, waist circumference, and diastolic blood pressure, suggesting a potential impact on clinical characteristics. However, the rs2651860 and rs3132294 SNPs did not show a significant association with dyslipidemia. The study concluded that further research with larger samples is needed to confirm these findings.
