Influence of Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens on Hair Growth of C57BL/6J

The study investigated the effects of Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens (Fresh Ginger) on hair growth in C57BL/6J mice. Results showed that after 14 days, the skin color of treated mice changed from pink to black, and by day 19, hair growth was observed. By day 29, the treated mice exhibited significant hair growth compared to the control group. Although the initial growth was less pronounced than the positive control, the effects were similar in later stages. Histological examination revealed increased melanin and activated hair follicles in treated mice, indicating that Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens significantly promoted hair growth by transitioning hair follicles from the resting phase to the growth phase.
