TLDR Kolaviron and quercetin may help treat prostate issues.
The study investigated the effects of kolaviron and quercetin on testosterone-induced benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in Wistar rats. Fifty rats were used, with forty-two divided into six groups. BPH was induced in all but the control group using testosterone injections. Post-induction, groups were treated with kolaviron, quercetin, a combination of both, or finasteride. BPH induction increased various biomarkers, but treatments with kolaviron and quercetin effectively reversed these changes, except for triglyceride levels in the quercetin group. HDL-c levels reduced by BPH were also restored by the treatments. The study concludes that kolaviron and quercetin show potential for treating prostate-related conditions.
