TLDR Alopecia areata greatly affects quality of life, needing psychological support.
Alopecia areata (AA) significantly impacts the quality of life (QOL) of individuals, as shown in a study involving 40 patients who completed the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) questionnaire. The study found that 65% of patients were concerned about their disease, with a majority being males and most aged between 31 and 40 years. Employees and students were particularly affected, and those with a longer duration of AA experienced moderate to very large effects on their QOL. The findings suggest that psychological evaluation and support are important for patients with AA.
