TLDR Diffuse lichen planopilaris greatly reduces quality of life.
This study assessed the quality of life in 87 Moroccan patients with diffuse lichen planopilaris (DLPP), a condition causing scarring alopecia. The majority of participants were female, and 90% experienced hair loss. The study found that DLPP significantly reduced quality of life, with 40.2% of patients experiencing serious impairment. Symptoms such as trichodynia and changes in hair quality notably affected daily functioning and leisure activities. The findings highlight the importance of early diagnosis and management to preserve hair and mental health.
