TLDR Pumpkin seeds may help expel parasites, but findings are retracted.
The retracted study explored the anthelmintic effects of pumpkin seed decoction on Trichinella spiralis in mice, finding that the decoction, especially when combined with honey, significantly reduced the parasite count by up to 83.2%. The mechanism, termed "Weep and Sweep," involved enhancing type 2 immunity and suppressing type 1 immunity markers, improving oxidative stress status. The study suggested pumpkin seeds as a promising alternative treatment, although the findings have been retracted.
