TLDR The F3 pumpkin seed oil gel showed excellent properties and better drug release for hair loss treatment.
The study aimed to formulate and evaluate a pumpkin seed oil hair gel for treating androgenetic alopecia, leveraging the oil's anti-androgenic properties. The gel, composed of Carbopol 940 and HPMC K100 as gelling agents, was tested for various physical parameters, including pH, drug content, and viscosity. In-vitro release and cell cytotoxicity studies identified formulation F3 as optimized and non-irritant. The conclusion highlights that the F3 gel formulation exhibited excellent physicochemical properties and superior in vitro drug release compared to other formulations.
