TLDR The piglets fully recovered from psoroptic mange after treatment.
A case of psoroptic mange in 90-day-old Large White Yorkshire piglets was reported at the Instructional Livestock Farm Complex in Hyderabad. The piglets exhibited symptoms such as severe skin rubbing, erythematous lesions, hair loss, and weakness. Diagnosis was confirmed through skin scrapings that revealed the presence of psoroptic mites. The piglets were treated with Ivermectin, cefpodoxime, chlorpheniramine, povidone iodine, and Ascabiol lotion. Following treatment, the piglets fully recovered, and subsequent skin examinations showed no presence of mites or eggs, indicating the treatment was effective.
