TLDR Ivermectin, Vimeral syrup, and Benzyl Benzoate effectively treat sarcoptic mange in rabbits.
A colony of 8 rabbits with symptoms of sarcoptic mange, including whitish crusty lesions, intense pruritus, and alopecia, was treated with subcutaneous Ivermectin injections (400 mg/kg weekly), oral Vimeral syrup, and topical Benzyl Benzoate. After 2 weeks, significant improvement was observed, and by the fourth week, follow-up skin scrapings showed no evidence of Sarcoptes scabiei, indicating successful recovery. This case underscores the effectiveness of Ivermectin, Vimeral syrup, and Benzyl Benzoate in treating S. scabiei infestation in rabbits, with regular monitoring being crucial for complete recovery and prevention of recurrence.
