The Successful Treatment of Alopecia Areata with Platelet-Rich Plasma in Twins with Genetic Risk for Autoimmune Disorders

    TLDR PRP injections can effectively treat alopecia areata.
    This document presented a case study of twins with a genetic predisposition to autoimmune disorders who suffered from alopecia areata totalis. Traditional corticosteroid treatments were ineffective, but the twins experienced significant and continuous hair growth after receiving platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections. The study suggested that PRP could be a promising alternative treatment for alopecia areata.
