TLDR PRP injections improve facial skin by reducing wrinkles and pores.
The study investigated the effects of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections on facial skin rejuvenation in 30 healthy females. Participants received 3 PRP injections at 15-day intervals, and the results were assessed using the VISIA® Complexion Analysis System and skin computed tomography. The study found that PRP treatment improved skin quality by reducing wrinkles, texture, and pores. Additionally, in vitro experiments showed that PRP ameliorated photoaging by inhibiting UV-B-induced upregulation of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) and tyrosinase, while promoting the expression of fibrillin and tropoelastin. These findings suggested that PRP treatment could effectively counteract skin photoaging through molecular regulation.
