TLDR PRP injections effectively reduce hair loss and promote hair growth in androgenic alopecia.
The study investigated the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections in treating androgenic alopecia (AGA) in 20 patients. Over six months, patients received monthly PRP injections, resulting in a significant improvement in hair loss. Hair count increased from an average of 60 to 84 hair follicular units, with a mean gain of 24 units/cm². The hair pull test was negative in 17 patients after the final session, indicating reduced hair loss. The study concluded that PRP is a simple, cost-effective, and feasible treatment option for AGA, leveraging growth factors to stimulate hair growth and regeneration.
