Efficacy and Safety of Platelet Rich Plasma After Hair Transplantation for Male Androgenetic Alopecia: A Pilot Study

The pilot study "Efficacy and Safety of Platelet Rich Plasma after Hair Transplantation of Male Androgenetic Alopecia" involved 15 patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA) who were treated with Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections. The results showed a significant increase in follicular hair density and length from the baseline to the end of 6 months, with no reported scalp redness beyond the first month. The study concluded that PRP after FUE leads to faster hair density, reduces the catagen loss of transplanted hair, allows for early recovery of the skin, and promotes faster appearance of new anagen hair.
